Anisong Rankings of the Week (8/4/20-8/10/20)

The experiment is still going! It seems like you enjoyed my Anisong Rankings!? At least that's what the views told me. So I think I'll keep making this a weekly thing. As you know, I REALLY love listening to anisongs. I've been wanting to write about anisongs in some way, shape, or form for a while now. This is my answer.

As always, you'll find my weekly anisong rankings, mora's weekly rankings, and Oricon's weekly anime single rankings!  I know not everyone will be interested in my personal list (sadface.png) but seeing what's popular in Japan is always cool, right? The more lists to compare, the better! Regarding mora and Oricon's lists, I will always provide the latest rankings they publish on their sites. Sometimes they'll be a few weeks behind so bear that in mind.

SH's Weekly Anisong Rankings (8/4/20-8/10/20)

These rankings only reflect what songs I'm listening to the most in a given week. I actually have an app that tells me how many times I've listened to a song in a week. There's an app for almost everything, huh? Every now and then, you may find anisongs on my list that aren't even from the current anime season! It's bound to happen. Sometimes you gotta go back and appreciate the classics, ya know?

As we reach the midway point for the current anime season, this is usually when songs start growing on me. That being said, this week sees four new songs making their debut! Well, it's actually three as one of those songs appeared a lot on my list last season. Of course, I am talking about the absolute banger that is The Millionaire Detective - Balance: UNLIMITED ending song! The show went on hiatus last season due to COVID-19 but this song remained on my list for a while. And now that the anime is back, so is the song! At #1 on my list, no less! It's that good of a song. The opening theme for the anime is also pretty catchy and that's why it also makes its debut this week. Konomi Suzuki has been no stranger to my list this season as she sings the Re:Zero 2nd season opening. However, she also sings the opening for DECA-DENCE. Honestly, I thought the song was okay at the beginning of the season but it has really grown on me since then. I think it may even be a better song than her Re:Zero opening! And lastly, the ending theme for the current season of SAO finally cracks my list! It's been just outside my top ten every week since the season started.

Mora is a Japanese music streaming site and this is their weekly anisong rankings. I've decided to include their Top 5 Album Single Rankings and Top 5 Single Song Rankings. Oricon is a company that provides statistics on music and information about the music industry in Japan. It's probably best known for its music charts that have become extremely popular over the years! This is their weekly anime single rankings!
