Anime News of the Week (8/11/20-8/17/20)

Greetings! I hope you're all doing well. As you can see, this is something a little different than what you'd usually expect from this blog. I've decided to add another weekly column to my blog in the form of anime news. Don't worry though! I'm still planning on doing my weekly anisong rankings and weekly anime reviews post. Also, don't expect too much from my anime news post every week. I just wanted to share my favorite news from the week! And this is how I decided to accomplish that. Anyway, let's see what caught my eye this week, shall we?

Priconne Getting a 2nd Season!

It was announced this week that the Princess Connect! Re: Dive anime would be getting a second season! The anime will once again be handled by CygamesPictures and all of the original cast will be returning as well.

I can't complain about another season of Princess Connect! Re: Dive! It should be fun! And if you can't wait for the second season, you can always rewatch the first season on Crunchyroll or VRV!

Synopsis: In the beautiful land of Astraea where a gentle breeze blows, a young man named Yuuki awakens with no memory of his past. There he encounters a guide who has sworn to care for him—Kokkoro, a lovely swordswoman who's always feeling peckish—Pecorine, and a cat-eared sorceress with a prickly attitude—Karyl. Led by fate, these four come together to form the "Gourmet Guild." And so their adventure begins...

Haikyuu!! To the Top Returns on October 2nd!

Also announced this week was that the Haikyuu!! To the Top anime would return on October 2nd! A couple of trailers were released with the announcement that revealed that SUPER BEAVER will be doing the opening theme while SPYAIR will be handling the ending theme.

Who's excited for more Haikyuu!? If you can't wait until October, you can always rewatch the series on Crunchyroll, VRV, or HIDIVE!

Synopsis: The Karasuno High School Volleyball Club finally won their way into the nationals after an intense battle for the Miyagi Prefecture Spring Tournament qualifiers. As they were preparing for the nationals, Kageyama is invited to go to All-Japan Youth Training Camp. At the same time, Tsukishima is invited to go to a special rookie select training camp for first-years in Miyagi Prefecture. Hinata feels panic that he’s being left behind as one of the first-years and then decides to show up at the Miyagi Prefecture rookie select training camp anyway… As they prepare for the nationals, Hinata, Kageyama and the rest of the Karasuno High School Volleyball team get ready to face some new challenges!!

Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle- Rhyme Anima Coming October 2nd!

Speaking of October 2nd premieres, the anime for the Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle- Project will also air on that date! It was supposed to start airing last month but COVID-19 related issues pushed it back a few months. The website for the anime also announced that fans can look forward to a new song every episode! A-1 Pictures will be handling the anime.

The current staff for the anime includes:

I enjoy listening to these rap battles every now and then. It should be interesting to see how the Hypnosis Mic anime turns out! While you're waiting, check out some of the rap battles on the official Hypnosis Mic Youtube channel!
